NEW WORK
(2000 - 2016)
It might legitimately be argued that work which was done almost 15 years ago should not be regarded as "new work". But of course, by 2000 I had been working as a staff photographer at the Toronto Star for nearly thirty years.
The decision to restrict this portfolio to work from the past fifteen years was not arbitrary. Rather, 2000 was the year that I switched from film to digital, and most of the digital images are accessible to me, unlike my earlier negatives which are stored in boxes (along with the work of dozens of other photographers) somewhere at the Star.

Of course, the transition from film to pixels was not the first time that I had found myself dealing with technological change, nor was it the last. A few years ago the Star became enthused with the potential of video, and notwithstanding that I had no experience with video I embraced the new medium, and you will find a few samples on this site.
